Dr. Thomas J. Trevethan is currently a Palo Alto Networks Cybersecurity Academy Curriculum Developer and Training Engineer. He is responsible for developing curriculum and training college faculty on cybersecurity and next generation firewall technology configuration & administration. From September 2000 until July 2016, Thomas served as the Dean of Curriculum at ECPI University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was also a faculty member in the Computer and Information Sciences department teaching cybersecurity courses to undergraduate and graduate students.

In 2015, Thomas earned a Ph.D. in Computer Information Systems at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Prior to joining ECPI, Thomas served in the U.S. Navy from June 1977 through August 2000. His military career consisted of multiple Aircraft Carrier tours throughout the Atlantic and Pacific fleets before retiring from the Space and Naval Warfare Center (SPAWAR) in Norfolk Virginia.
