Tamara Shoemaker, a Board Member of the Midwest CISSE Chapter, has a mission to address the critical shortage of educated and trained cybersecurity professionals. She has become an evangelist for the CyberPatriot Program, and founded the Michigan CyberPatriot program to grow the number of teams participating across Michigan. The national program CyberPatriot is ten years old and our Michigan program was honored to become the 12th Center of Academic Excellence. The MCISSE members held six summer camps with the help of the funding from the Governor though the MDE. It is our hope that the growth of the Michigan CyberPatriot Program will seed the pipeline with students eager to enter the field of cybersecurity.
