Dr. Carol J. Jeffries-Horner is Professor and Chair of Computer Information Systems and Security in the School of Business and Leadership at Our Lady of the Lake University. Dr. Jeffries-Horner received her Ph.D. in Business Administration and M.B.A. in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Arlington. Her undergraduate degree in music education is from Baylor University.
Dr. Jeffries-Horner began teaching at the university level in 1984, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in systems analysis, systems design, database development, information systems for managers, and introductory information systems and business computing at UT-Arlington, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and Our Lady of the Lake University of San Antonio. She has developed and taught multiple online courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. She has also served as a mentor for the McNair Scholars program, and has participated in several graduate and undergraduate curriculum development and revision efforts. She was the 2003 recipient of the Fleming Award for Teaching Excellence and the 2009-2010 Moody Professor at OLLU. Dr. Jeffries-Horner’s research interests include information assurance and security, data administration and data modeling, systems development, and curriculum issues in computer information systems.
