Vulnerable Web Server: Teaching High School Students How to Hack

Understanding the methods used by hackers is necessary to truly stop the cybersecurity threat. Teaching defensive techniques and best practices is good, but not enough. The Vulnerable Web Server is designed to provide teachers with five introductory cybersecurity lessons. During these lessons students will have the opportunity to do more than just discuss cyberattacks, they will conduct live attacks on a separate network not attached to the internet. Attendees will experiment with one of the labs from the lesson plan and understand where to download the software and lesson plans related to the Vulnerable Web Server.
